The Best Advice thus far...

I was watching TV last night and one of the shows I watched, honestly don't remember which or who said it because I watch entirely too much tv, but it was the best advice for parents that I've heard and honestly had already figured out. "Do what works for you and your kids" in other words, don't worry about what others say and what others are doing because it won't work for everyone.

Since Charlotte was born, I will Google things or ask other mom's for their thoughts but at the end of the night, I still go with what seems to work for her and what work's in our lives. I don't worry about being the perfect mom, I worry about being the best mom I can be for Charlotte and in the future for any other children we may have. I also take into consideration the cards we have been dealt and go from there.

At the risk of jumping into a touchy subject, we formula feed. This is one of those things that based on circumstances and lifestyle and a tad of what was going to be needed for Charlotte since she was premature, we went with what worked best in our lives and hers...thus she gets formula. In a different situation, I would have happily been breastfeeding but things didn't line up that way so here she is perfectly healthy and growing nice and big and strong on her formula. We talk about having our second child and what we will do and I still plan on trying to breastfeed because I know history won't necessarily repeat itself but honestly, I'm not against formula because I know you have to go with what works and we will just have to see what happens.

Like I said, I don't want to get into any debates because honestly I know both sides and I know what I would have preferred but I also know what works for us is perfectly fine!

So new parents out there just remember, you will be told a lot of things. Try them all but then go with what works best for you and your family. That's my exciting post of the day since I'm still on a baby kick for posts.
