Little Feet-Big Footprint

Rice Cereal Recipe:
December 4th, 2012

I found this recipe by searching on the internet for a few different pages and then modified the originals to get the rice cereal that we have just started trying with Charlotte.

What you'll need:
1/4cup Brown Rice
1cup Water
Pot and Lid
Coffee Grinder (or food processor)
Breast Milk or Formula

I usually use half the amount because Charlotte is just starting to try solids so she doesn't eat very much. I make 1/8cup Brown rice to 1/2cup Water.

  • First you'll want to grind the rice to a powder. I found many sites suggesting a coffee grinder because it does a better job at turning it into a powder but if you don't have one, you can use a food processor.
  • Once the powder is made mix it with the water and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat to about medium and cover with a lid to let simmer for a couple minutes.
  • I just keep an eye on it and when it turns to a paste I take it off the heat, stir, and put into a container.
You can keep the rice cereal in the fridge for 3 days so I just take out a little at a time and then mix it with Formula to get it to a runnier consistency for Charlotte to eat.
