Starting Traditions

This Christmas is Charlotte's first Christmas so I'm excited to be putting in place traditions from when I was little as well as some added ones I have come across over time that I want her to have as a tradition.

One of my favorite traditions that Kagun and I started a couple years ago was getting a matching pair of pajama pants for Christmas morning. I love that this year we will start including Charlotte in this tradition. She won't have an identical pair to Kagun and I but she'll have her own special Christmas Sleeper for Christmas Eve into Christmas morning. This will be Kagun and I's 4th year and our 4th pair of pajama pants. I always get flannel plaid pants from Old Navy. I find that if you get them around Black Friday, you can get them for very little money which is always a plus.

Adding to that tradition, we will start taking a Christmas photo in our pjs this year so that we can look back and see the pants we had and see how much we all change in the length of a year.

Another favorite tradition we have is getting a new ornament every year as a couple. Extending that, we will be getting Charlotte her own ornament each year as well as a family ornament. This year, we made our Couple ornament from salt dough and my dad bought us our family ornament. I have included a picture of the ornament below and the link to the website if you're interested in getting one for your family. Charlotte will have two ornaments this year..we plan to get her a baby's first Christmas ornament as well as I made a salt dough footprint for her. I love this tradition because it helps us grown our collection of ornaments for our tree. Each year, I also get the ornament from the University that Kagun and I graduated from which I love because eventually I could do an entire tree in our University ornaments and colors.

More traditions to come, but whatever your traditions may be, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family!
